This position is responsible for the evaluation of transfer credit for the foreign and domestic undergraduate student population and awarding of credit toward graduation for Baruch College. The coordinator will also provide functional support to the other members of the Transfer Evaluation Team in advising students on the transfer admissions process and transfer policies and procedures. Reporting to the Senior Transfer Advisor, the Credit Evaluation Coordinator will perform the following duties in addition to the responsibilities listed in the CUNY Title Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Admissions Application Support: Coordinate application processing, including document review, scanning, and uploading to admissions systems.
  • Recruitment Event Participation: Represent the admissions office at on-campus events such as open houses, information sessions, and yield activities.
  • Student Records Management: Create and maintain student records in CUNYfirst, ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional standards.
  • Transfer Credit Evaluation: Assess transcripts and advanced placement documents (e.g., AP, CLEP, IB) for authenticity and course equivalency in line with established policies.
  • Credit Data Processing: Record, enter, and validate transfer credit data, applying credits toward general education and program requirements.
  • Advising on Transfer Credits: Provide personalized reports, unofficial credit evaluations, and pre-transfer course recommendations to prospective and current students.
  • Collaborative Transition Support: Work with campus offices to ensure smooth transitions for admitted students from acceptance to registration.
  • System Optimization: Maintain equivalency rules in the CUNYfirst credit system and improve workflows to enhance the transfer credit process.
  • Comprehensive Credit Evaluations: Conduct credit evaluations for freshmen and transfer students, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Database Management and Issue Resolution: Manage student information systems and resolve record-related issues while providing updates on transfer credit statuses.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree Required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using CUNYfirst (PeopleSoft).
  • At least one (1) year experience in a higher education setting preferred
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Ideal candidate will have excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills as well as strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply college policies and procedures relating to transfer credits and graduation requirements

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Coordinates efforts of admissions and/or enrollment offices.

  • Coordinates workshops, intake screenings, interviews and orientations for new students
  • Counsels prospective applicants on requirements and standards and provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, e-mail or letter; conducts follow up as needed
  • Assists in conducting open house sessions and orientations, including group sessions and programs at high schools and in the community at large
  • Assists with day-to-day administration and an admissions or enrollment office, including scheduling and preparing and distributing materials
  • Represents the Admission Office to the college’s internal and external communities as directed
  • Maintains and updates program databases, lists and files to ensure completeness and accuracy

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$60,394-$62,689; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
