The Center
for Occupational Medicine & Environmental Health Promotion, within the
Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or
Physician’s Assistant to join their team.
Under indirect supervision, the ideal candidate will provide primary
occupational health care, plus evaluation of some non-occupational health care
in a clinic setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients. This person will supervise and coordinate
clinic support staff as well as complete related administrative duties as
delegated by the Medical Director. The
ideal candidate will have the ability to work well within a team setting.
The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive
department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality
work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation,
training, and education. Through our collaborative work effort, we support the
faculty and enhance the missions of the department, school, Health Sciences
Center, and University.

- CPR Certified.
- May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening.
- UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- May be subject to credentialing process; must maintain credentialed status, if applicable.
- Must maintain certification status.
Bachelor’s degree; no previous experience required.
Certification/Licensure
Eligible for New Mexico certification as a Physician’s Assistant
OR
State of New Mexico Certified Nurse Practitioner or certification pending, as documented by temporary certificate.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

care - Experience in pre-placement/post
job offer examinations and/or work related medical surveillance examinations - Ability to clearly
communicate medical information to professional practitioners, department
representatives, and patients
