This includes working with different divisions, country offices, and NatComs in across-organizational way.

The Adviser (Supporter Engagement Strategy) is the co-lead for developing and rolling out this strategy. How can you make a difference?

  1. SES Implementation:  Lead the development and implementation of UNICEF’s Supporter Strategy, ensuring global coordination across various divisions, regional offices, country offices, and National Committees. This strategy encompasses donor engagement, volunteer management, and the design of comprehensive supporter journeys.
  2. Audience-centered Supporter Journeys transformation and models: Define the post-implementation model that maximizes the use of the Salesforce platform and the related digital ecosystem to deliver better experiences and value to supporters, thereby generating increased value for UNICEF.
  3. Building models that maximize synergies within HQ functions and offices to deliver super-targeted marketing ​activation setting a common supporter engagement and loyalty direction and systems and processes, using data and insights, common campaign management techniques, and highly relevant ​and personalized content.
  4. Develop mechanisms for the allocation and implementation of internal grants to provide funding to country-based initiatives for volunteering.
  5. Manage and coordinate the supporter strategy team within Individual Giving to provide appropriate technical support and advice to country-based supporter initiatives in Country Offices and NatComs, drawing on and sharing knowledge and expertise from within and outside the organization.
  6. In consultation with ICTD and key stakeholders in PFP, and with the guidance of the Steering Committee, develop appropriate resourcing, internal governance, and risk management processes to support the strategy.
  7. Develop a system for effectively monitoring progress of the strategy across the organization and provide regular updates to participating offices and divisions, the Steering Committee and senior management.
  8. Provide advice to senior management on the future direction of the strategy and effectively institutionalize it within UNICEF programmes and management systems.
  9. As a manager, sets clear and achievable work objectives for the supervisee (TA, non-staff personnel, etc.), monitors performance, ensures appropriate development and training, and provides leadership, support, and guidance to maintain staff motivation and sound management relations. Additionally, effectively manage staffing and the financial resources allocated to it.

To qualify as a Champion for every child you will have…

Education:

  • An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: International Development, Communications, Humanities, Fundraising, Business Administration, Information Technology, or another relevant technical field.
  • Alternatively, a first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience in leading large-scale fundraising and/or marketing portfolios leadership and management is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams working in environments with modern CRM systems and marketing automation tools is required.
  • A proven track record in management for results, strategic planning, partnership building, and resource mobilization is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing cross-organizational complex projects from inception to post-implementation, including working with multiple stakeholders is required.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills is required.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is an asset.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in fundraising, including digital campaigns, etc., is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of UN/ UNICEF is an asset.

Language requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) relevant to collaboration with National Committees for UNICEF is an asset.
