One of our major banking clients is looking for an AML Specialist (Customer Connect, CAMS, Prior Banking experience)Length: 1 year contract with a huge possibility of extension and conversion to FTELocation: Toronto, ON – Hybrid (WFH currently, but could be some work from office)Hours of work: : Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pmROLE MANDATE:
The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Specialist is responsible for performing Know your customer (KYC) and AML compliance functions. Functions include efficient gathering and reviewing of new & existing client information, which includes identification details and Customer Due Diligence CDD documents. As required, participation with ad-hoc AML requests and responsibilities in support of compliance with AML Program requirements.Candidate Value Proposition (CVP):

A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and highly confidential.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Manage a shared email inbox of new AML ID requests
  • Assess and action alternate identification requests for completeness and compliance
  • Work with front line employees regarding missing Identification & CDD documentation
  • Ensure proper record keeping of details collected
  • Ensure timely and efficient reporting of completed identification & CDD requests
  • Help in identifying potential weaknesses in processes. Provide advice to management on issues relating to policy and procedures
  • Stay current with money laundering and terrorist financing behaviors, issues, policies, regulations, criminal typologies, industry best practices, and developing trends
  • Act as a subject matter expert to front line employees, providing guidance on what actions to take in dealing with identification request and CDD documentation
  • As required and/or requested by Manager, participation in ad-hoc AML requests and responsibilities in support of compliance with AML Program requirements

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

  • At least 2+ years of experience in financial services industry, preferably BMO
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Maintaining or pursuing an AML-related certification (e.g., CAMS)
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Previous BMO experience/knowledge of Customer Connect strong asset

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented and highly confidential
