Analytics Internship

Position Summary

Post University is looking for a highly motivated individual looking to start a career in building data models and visualizations to drive actionable insights. The Analytics Intern will gain experience in the University Data Platform using the Microsoft BI Stack (Azure Synapse, Databricks, SQL Server, Power BI). This person will work with a team of experienced business intelligence and data analysts. The ideal candidate is self-driven with a passion for solving problems with data. This 

Rate of Pay: Minimum Wage

Location: Remote

Supervisor: Heather Tietz, Senior Director of Master Data Management & Business Intelligence

This is a semester long position with an anticipated start date of 1/27/2025.

Scope of Role

• Partner with senior members of the team to learn about the analytical infrastructure of the University Data Platform
• Assist in the on-going documentation of enterprise data sets. Including the mapping of data from source to target systems, the data collection process, and the data definitions
• Gain hands-on experience with the data mining and data interpretation process
• Learn to design, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI
• Other projects and duties as assigned

Technical Skills and Experience

• Must be a current student at Post University with a Junior standing or higher or a graduate student of any year.
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow standard methodologies
• Solid communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) and strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work as a team member with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for working with data+
