You will be responsible for ensuring operational readiness, driving value from IT investments and partnering with other IT leaders to manage all aspects of security and SLAs to the business.You will oversee the development and maintenance of:
- Windows/Web .NET applications
- Enterprise applications that run on our IBM Power System (iSeries)
You have a strong background in modernizing legacy applications, leveraging cloud and SaaS technologies. You have deep expertise in .NET and Azure and are comfortable managing development teams that run alternative technology stacks.This role requires the ability to work in parallel to Eastern Standard time, with that start of the day being 8 am EST.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the software development life cycle, from planning and prioritizing to testing and release.
- Supervise and mentor a team of developers and analysts, providing feedback and guidance on performance and career development.
- Ensure compliance with IT standards, policies and procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other IT leaders and stakeholders to align IT strategy and objectives with business needs and expectations.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on software architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance, availability, and reliability of IT systems and applications.
- Identify and resolve issues and risks, and escalate them as appropriate.
- Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendors, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and trends, and make recommendations to improve IT efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and execute the modernization of legacy applications to leverage cloud and SaaS technologies.
Job Specific Skills:
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience in IT project management, budgeting, and vendor management.
- Certification in software development, IT management, or related field is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in modernizing legacy applications to leverage cloud and SaaS technologies.
- Experience in a retail environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in software development, with 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proficient in Windows/.NET applications
- Proficient in Azure application architecture
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes, such as agile, scrum, DevOps, etc.
