Applications Developer 2

The Public Safety IT Delivery Center is seeking someone highly motivated and with great attention to detail to join our team as an Applications Developer 2 in the Applications Support Unit within the Public Safety Solutions Management Division. This position provides daily challenging work for a prominent state agency, telework, and free parking! Your work will help ensure that agencies have reliable tools to perform their critical responsibilities. This position supports the development and maintenance of applications used by several public safety agencies. It involves technical work that includes programming, testing, troubleshooting, documenting systems, and supporting users. As an Applications Developer 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Programming Tasks: Develop and maintain web applications using tools such as Microsoft .NET, ASP.Net Core, C#, SQL, XML, and FTP
• System Testing: Create test cases, set up test environments, and coordinate system testing with business owners
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot Application issues, respond to ServiceNow requests, and evaluate operations to correct system problems
• Documentation Work: Create and update documentation, prepare system requirement documents, and manage versions using Azure DevOps
• Project Leadership: Provide direction in project planning, establish requirements, and monitor application development progress
• Additional Tasks: Perform other assigned duties, including responsibilities under the Department CoG Plan when activated

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
• Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
• A bachelor’s degree in any information technology field.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Other Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
