AMHPs exercise functions under the MHA1983, which relate to decisions made about individuals with mental disorders, including the decision to apply for compulsory admission to hospital.The AMHP hub is in place to enable practitioners to respond quickly to requests for an assessment under the MHA and operates between 0900 and 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 0900 to 4:30pm on Fridays.You will need to demonstrate a high level of autonomy, expert and effective practice in complex safeguarding situations, assess and manage high levels of risk, striking a balance between support and control and liaising with a wide range of professionals.This is an exciting opportunity for an AMHP which requires the use of all core skills in applying the social perspective and guiding principles of the MHA Code of Practice 2015. You will need excellent communication and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure and of own volition.
