We boldly go.Job Summary:Trane in is hiring for an Area Service Manager to join our Trane Rental Service team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the leadership for all day-to-day operations, facility maintenance and compliance requirements, and participating in strategic and improvement projects. Processes within this role include direct management of administrative personnel and technicians, training, and compliance certification of the team to ensure safe operations, coordinating with various office internal and external to Trane Rentals, and identification of issues and proposing solutions to remove barriers blocking the safe, quality, or productive performance of the facility and its personnel.Thrive at work and at home:

!Where is the work:This position has been designated as onsite.Work Location – 101 Wayne Gretzky Pkwy, Brantford, ON N3S 7N9, CanadaResponsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 3-6 hourly personnel as they work to receive, repair, test, and ship Rental Equipment. Ensure all standard processes are followed in the repair and documentation functions of each function.
  • Effectively attract, coach, counsel, train and develop all employees at your location. Develop employee skill levels, including customer service, process, and technical skills to the highest degree possible while ensuring all safety and quality requirements are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement through company performance management process utilization of developed KPIs. Participate in company-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Work with your administrative personnel to ensure understanding of inbound and outbound shipments and be able to meet customer demand by providing high-quality units at the right time, as needed.
  • Maintain your physical facility and property, utilizing contracted services in coordination with the procurement process and multiple internal teams.
  • Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance within the Rental Service team. Provide training to all employees to ensure a safe and productive work environment both in the shop and at customer sites.
  • Audit and Coach behaviors as needed. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality and productivity requirements and adherence to company values and principles.
  • Travel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the site visits, the employee may be exposed to variable weather conditions; moving mechanical parts; heights, and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
  • Travel to other locations or Trane Rentals Headquarters may be required. Travel outside your local area is at or below 10%.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing teams of people, processes, and budgets.
  • Knowledge of Lean or similar improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.
