Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our team on the assembly line. The role involves assembling small to medium-sized motors and working collaboratively with a team of 5-8 assemblers. You will be responsible for pulling parts from receiving, using hand tools to assemble back plates and seals, and operating a punch press if additional holes are needed for screws. Once assembled, the motors will be sent to Quality Control for inspection. The goal is to produce 200 motors each week. Note: There is no electrical wiring involved.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small to medium-sized motors using hand tools.
• Collaborate with a team of 5-8 assemblers on the assembly line.
• Pull parts from receiving and bring them to the assembly line.
• Use hand tools to assemble back plates and seals.
• Operate a punch press to create additional holes for screws if necessary.
• Ensure motors are assembled correctly and send them to Quality Control.
• Meet the production target of 200 motors each week.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read calipers and tape measures.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and instructions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and switch between duties effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of motor parts and hydraulics is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in an air-conditioned shop alongside other assemblers. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with minimal overtime. Jeans, work shirt, and steel-toed shoes are required attire.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Katy, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 – $17.00/hr.
