As an Assembler at Laserflex, a part of Ryerson family of companies, you will be responsible for keeping the work area safe and productive and filling in for absent positions as qualified, excluding maintenance, as needed on a daily basis.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assemble material for shipment or components in accordance with specifications and instructions on orders
• Select material from specific heats or for physical condition in accordance with instructions on orders
• Count, record heat or test numbers or symbols, list random lengths and other necessary information on orders as required
• Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards of each job assignment
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment – evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Certified fork truck experience preferred
• Crane experience preferred (sheet lifter, chains, slings, hoists, or hooks)
• Experience with hand tools for banding and packaging material
• Understand work order packaging specifications
• Proficient with hand tools
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training
