Assembly Worker, 1st Shift – Buckeye, AZ

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in our Buckeye, AZ location!

New employees can earn 55K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

1st Shift
When working 9 hour shift schedule, Monday – Thursday Day shift – 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Friday Day shift – 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. And Mandatory alternating Saturdays Day shift – 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
When working 8 hour shift schedule Monday – Friday 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
Must be able to work all schedules.

Assembles steel joist components ready for final welding; performs such work consistent with corporate mission, values and department’s financial objectives.

• Sets up jigs, reads and interprets shop drawings necessary for such work.
• Moves parts into position.
• Aligns parts.
• Tack welds or clamps parts into position ready for moving along conveyor to final welding area.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, metal scrap removal and other joist assembly-related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, steel industry preferred.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend crouch, or crawl.
• Climb or balance frequently.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs or more
• Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise in the work environment is generally very loud.

PPEs REQUIRED:

The following PPEs will be required to be worn at all times:

• Hard hat
• Metatarsal safety boots
• Safety glasses
• Ear plugs
• Tacking shield
• Welding sleeves
• Leather gloves
