Duties and Responsibilities

1. **Works closely with supervisor on the development, implementation, and evaluation of services and programs for students involving the application of standard residential housing policies, regulations and widely accepted methods & practices.

2. **Works closely with supervisor on the development of measures to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services to determine program success, growth and areas in need of improvements.

3. **Works closely with supervisor on the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies to increase and maintain acceptable occupancy levels.

4. **Works closely with supervisor to administer & coordinate daily operations of the assignments program including, but not limited to: contracts & records management, fiscal processes, special accommodation needs, food service & office operations.

5. **Works closely with supervisor to develop, implement, and monitor an operating budget for the program and services offered.

6. **Recruits, supervises & evaluates full-time clerical staff, student assistants & others who assist with programs and services. Includes developing & implementing appropriate strategies for selection, training, performance counseling & evaluation.

7. **Works closely with supervisor and appropriate University departments to evaluate and revise policies and procedures related to the assignments program and services.

8. **Represents, supports and communicates the overall intent & mission of the University & Student Housing Services’ policies and procedures to students, campus, internal and external community members.

9. Provides support to student resident and departmental groups in various organizational and program planning and team-building efforts.

10. Participates via institutional and/or personal membership in relevant professional associations appropriate to the position (i.e. ACPA, NASPA, ACUHO, WACUHO, etc.)

11. Serves on departmental, divisional and university-wide committees, planning efforts, and programs as assigned.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business administration, social sciences, human development, communication, education, or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for providing assistance to clients or customers in service-oriented work or programs; or equivalent education/training or experience.

2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of service-oriented work or programs demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.

3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with student or guest accommodations or service-oriented work or programs.

4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the student or guest accommodations or service-oriented work or programs.

5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

8. Functional knowledge of general administrative principles and practices.

9. Ability to work independently, organize, set priorities and make decisions under pressure.

10. Supervisory and/or leadership experience.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Functional of knowledge of student housing operations, programs and services including, but not limited to housing assignment and fiscal operations.

2. Administrative responsibilities in student housing, hospitality or related service field.

3. Professional supervisory experience.

4. Knowledge of Federal, State and City regulations including, but now limited to, Americans with Disabilities Act, Civil Rights, FERPA, Fair Housing Acts, etc.

5. Knowledge of the principles and practices of current marketing strategies.
