G&EI consists of a team of around 45 gender and inclusion experts based across Headquarter and ROs. It leads on the design and delivery of the Bank’s Strategy for the Promotion of Gender Equality and its Equality of Opportunity Strategy across all areas and geographies of the Bank’s operations and policy engagements.
Promoting equality of opportunity through access to skills and employment, finance and entrepreneurship and support for women, young people and other under-served communities is one of the three cross-cutting strategic themes of the Bank.
G&EI is part of the Vice Presidency for Policy and Partnerships, and within that the Policy and Strategy Delivery department (PSD). PSD consists of approximately 180 staff that support policy engagement across the Bank’s transition qualities (except for green), political assessments, country strategy development and economic assessments as well as to support the Bank’s compliance with Article 1.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Advises and supports TC project preparation by preparing or commenting on project budgets, consultancy TORs, TC project profiles, TC Results Matrices and other GRU-related documentation;
- Supports the process of securing internal grant funding approvals by liaising with DP, PODD, PPAD and G&EI management;
- Supports donor relations and fundraising activities by preparing donor funding requests, including the drafting of donor fiches, and monitoring fund utilisation under allocated projects and programmes;
- Advises and supports project teams with the project management, including consultant procurement and selection process, drafts relevant documents, originates and implements consultancy contracts (liaises with internal support units for purposes of contract management, as well as external stakeholders – clients and consultants in coordination with management);
- Produces external and internal reports on the use of TC and donor funds, including by providing narratives and statistical data for the relevant financing facilities and grant instruments;
- Supports TC OLs with the administrative and financial monitoring of consultancy contracts;
- If needed and relevant, supports preparation of and attends donor funding related events and workshops;
- Actively contributes to portfolio and programme management by administering and maintaining accuracy of the pipeline of TC project assignment database; and provide accurate information for the
AD and relevant managers of G&EI:
- Provides G&EI and PSD management with progress updates and reporting statistics for presentation;
- Performs other tasks and duties related to administration of TC instruments as requested by G&EI management.
- Compilation and maintenance of relevant datasets.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, gender studies, international development or a related field from a leading university.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and qualitative skills, including knowledge of Excel and methods used in social research.
- Strong experience in development and maintenance of digital data tools, as well as sourcing, analysing and managing data.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Good IT skills, including use of presentational software.
- Familiarity with the EBRD region of operations and work or study experience in the region is helpful.
- Knowledge of one or more languages of the region is an advantage.
- Results oriented with good time management skills and ability to devise creative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with EBRD staff and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds.
