And now we have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Assistant Head of Student Services (Wellbeing).ABOUT US AND THE TEAMThe University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond!We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.In addition, in early 2025 we will be moving to a new, modern campus building adjacent to our current location offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.In this role, you will be joining the Health and Wellbeing Team, part of the Student Services department. The team is here to provide support to students experiencing a range of mental health and wellbeing concerns that may be impacting them academically and personally. The team is comprised of a Wellbeing Adviser, Disability Support Adviser, Mental Health Adviser, Student Finance Adviser, and International Student Support Adviser.ABOUT THE ROLEIn this role, you will provide leadership and management of our specialist advisory and wellbeing provision for students delivered by a team of skilled professionals. You will be a key member of the Student Services management team supporting the Head of Student Services in our cycle of strategic planning and development to ensure continuous review and service improvement.To be successful in this role, you will have experience of managing student disability and/or mental health services within Higher Education, including identifying data driven opportunities for service improvements. You will need to be adept at implementing policies and procedures to drive change in a service provision. Experience of managing complex student cases and excellent people management skills with the ability to foster collaborative relationships are also essential.WE OFFER
