This role will support the Operational Site Lead in managing the day-to-day operations of a busy parcel distribution depot. The ideal candidate will be adept at collaboration, possess strong organisational skills, and have a keen interest in contributing to the efficiency and success of the operational team.Key Responsibilities:Operational Support:

  • Assist in the oversight of daily depot operations, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
  • Coordinate with the Operational Site Lead to optimise resource allocation and workflow efficiency.
  • Support the delivery and improvement of key operational metrics, performance indicators and service levels.
  • Communicate operational performance effectively, internally and to clients.
  • Follow health and safety, and security procedures and ensure they are always adhered to.

Client Interaction:

  • Engage with clients to understand their specific operational requirements and contribute to maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Site Lead to address client concerns and implement service enhancements.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with depot staff to ensure a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
  • Provide support in leadership activities and serve as a point of contact alongside the Operational Site Lead.

Data Management:

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports on key operational metrics for review and decision-making

Resource Coordination:

  • Support the management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities, to meet operational demands.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Site Lead to implement safety measures and ensure compliance with regulations.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Actively participate in identifying opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of operational enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and integrate relevant best practices into daily operations.

Problem-Solving:

  • Assist in addressing operational challenges and implementing corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
  • Support in resolving escalated issues and ensure timely communication of resolutions.

RequirementsQualifications:Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Experience in a relevant operational role within the parcel delivery or logistics industry is advantageous.

Must have:

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when necessary.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and basic knowledge of analytics tools.
