Assistant Operator

position Overview

Operator Assistants help the Operator to maintain the quality of material being produced. Operator Assistants are responsible for safety, conducting quality control checks, assisting with troubleshooting, running the line when the Operator is on break or not available, assisting with preventive maintenance, general cleaning and housekeeping of the area and taking the finished product from the line and storing it in the plant. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good safety record
• Good attendance record
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to learn
• Math skills
• experience using a computer to operate, tune and set-up machinery and input production reports
• Prior Experience with Extrusion Preferred
• Capable of Training new employees
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude Required
• Proven training and leadership abilities
• Team Oriented and able to work well with others
• Availability for OT and Flexible Shifts
• Forklift Experience
