The position is for a Clinician-Teacher with a focus on tuberculosis. The successful candidate will be appointed to clinical practice in the Department of Medicine and the Respiratory Division at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). The professorial rank will be determined according to the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Teaching activity will include both didactic and clinical teaching. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching of clinical and research trainees at undergraduate and graduate levels, and to continuing medical education, with an emphasis on tuberculosis.The candidate’s clinical responsibilities will focus on the outpatient and inpatient care of persons with tuberculosis at the various sites of the McGill University Health Centre. The candidate’s clinical work will also encompass inpatient and outpatient general respirology duties at the Montreal Chest Institute/Royal Victoria Hospital (Glen), the Montreal General Hospital, and the Lachine Hospital sites of the McGill University Health Centre.While it is not expected that the candidate obtain independent research funding, it is expected that they support research activities being conducted by Respiratory Division members. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to administrative and quality improvement duties related to the Tuberculosis Clinic.The incumbent will also be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents and involvement in academic and administrative committees).McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.Qualifications and Education RequirementsRequired:Candidates must hold an MD degree, and must hold or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;Be eligible for certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec as a Respirologist;By July 2025, candidates must have completed residency training in internal medicine and respiratory medicine, with certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada by January 2026;By their anticipated start date, candidates must have completed at least one year of advanced clinical training in tuberculosis, or demonstrate equivalent specialized experience and expertise in this area. ·Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families and health care professionals.Assets:Additional training in medical education or quality improvement will be considered an asset for this Clinician-Teacher position.The earliest start date will be July 2026.
