The Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware invites applications for an instruction-focused faculty position in Management Information Systems at the Assistant Professor level. This 9-month Continuing Track position (not tenure-track) will be filled with an anticipated start date of August 2025. Continuing Track faculty begin with a two-year contract and are eligible for indefinite renewals. CT faculty enjoy contracts that increase in length over time and, like tenure-track faculty, receive full and generous benefits, including family-friendly benefits, as part of their compensation package. CT faculty with terminal degrees hold professorial rank and have a path to promotion up to full professor. All CT faculty earn sabbaticals, have opportunities to pursue research, participate in shared governance, and hold academic leadership positions. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. (or expect to complete one by August 2025) in Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Successful candidates will demonstrate the drive and vision to develop innovative, cutting-edge instructional programs. Candidates will be required to be active in our joint program with the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (part of the contract explicitly) and should have expertise in AI. Candidates will be expected to teach courses in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics, including programming, database design, statistics, and data analytics at UD or in our coordinated program in China. Candidates may have a workload which includes an expectation of contributions to the research environment, scholarly publications, and maintenance of faculty qualification status under AACSB accreditation standards.
The Alfred Lerner College at UD has a joint program with the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), located in Chengdu, China. The candidate will support the SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science joint program. Specifically, the candidate’s teaching will include courses taught at the SWUFE campus, involving one or two 5-8 week sessions at SWUFE per year. The remainder of the teaching would be at the Newark, Delaware main campus.
