$2,022.03 to $2,224.23 biweekly. Actual salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central/Rockledge/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Performs entry-level professional environmental work overseeing environmental assessment and remediation projects for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP). Work includes developing site-specific scopes of work, oversight of field activities, technical review of assessment and remediation reports, and project tracking in various databases.
REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, a Physical, or a Natural Science related to the area of assignment, including:Ecology and Wetland Ecology, Biology,Environmental Science, Zoology,Marine Science, Resource Management,Marine Biology, Botany,Geology, Natural Resources,Hydrology and Hydrogeology,Conservation Biology,Chemistry, Environmental Planning Coastal Zone Management Environmental, and/or Engineering.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, a current twenty-four (24) hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification, in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120, and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must complete all of the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees classes within nine (9) months of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
