To act as a subject matter expert for built environment security and risk management including opportunity origination, conversion, and delivery of real estate and infrastructure risk consulting projects.
The successful applicant will be a part of our Middle East team, supporting clients in Saudi Arabia and across the region as part of our broader EMEA team of over 100 crisis and security consultants.
Undertaking fee earning consultancy, including but not limited to built environment security consulting, security master planning, security risk assessments (site/project/supply-chain/business), security policy and planning consultancy, benchmarking and maturity assessments, security risk workshops, and applying relevant built environment risk management knowledge, tools, standards, and processes
Contribution to built environment security and risk consulting projects in the region to ensure compliance with Control Risks polices, standards, and methodologies as well as drawing on international leading practices
Client liaison, as a trusted advisor for Control Risks in order to develop client relationships across the full breadth of capabilities
Act as a thought leader and mentor to junior personnel working within and across the range of built environment security, risk, and design consulting services
Ensure requests from clients and prospects are dealt with effectively
Creating proposals and building project budgets to define scope and determine pricing prior to sign-off by designated managers
Provide accurate information on pipeline activity
Operational planning and management of engagements, including quality oversight of operational and document-based deliverables and compliance with Control Risks policies, standards and methodologies
Operational responsibility for and collaborative input into performance management of team members
Coordination and support to regional tasks as necessary
Maintain overall quality oversight of operational and written work
Adopt innovative approaches to development of current practices and new solutions
Act as a thought leader and coordinate with peer group across the business
Requirements
Deep understanding of the real estate and critical infrastructure security through the entire value chain and project lifecycle from project initiation through procurement, planning, design, construction, and in-use phases
Specific experience of the development of security strategies, polices, and standards for the built environment and security master planning
Proven ability of operating successfully at a senior level, implementing policy, driving quality and growing a business
Detailed understanding of and implementation experience of relevant professional bodies standards and processes, including but not limited to:
– American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) work stages
– Preventive strategies including the UK Secured by Design (SBD) and the US Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), UK National Counterterrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), and UK National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) guidelines
Detailed understanding of Control Risks capabilities and client outcomes
Proven experience of delivering consultancy-based engagements
Proven experience of people management
Proven experience of successful budgeting, project management, and project closure
Exposure to, or delivery of, built environment security consulting, operational security management, crisis management planning, security risk assessments (site/project/supply-chain/business), security policy and planning consultancy, resilience planning and management, benchmarking and maturity assessments, risk workshops
Excellent writing skills
Excellent presentation skills with proven ability to participate in speaking engagements
Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships
Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information
Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in risk management or related security, crisis and/or business continuity fields
