The Texas Instruments (TI) Government Relations team represents the company on important public policy issues around the world. We work with state and federal government officials, legislators, trade associations, business partners, and internal and external stakeholders to advance a policy and regulatory environment that supports TI’s business priorities. 

Texas Instruments is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our global government relations team.  This role will spearhead efforts to advance TI’s position as a valued technology partner by developing and coordinating seamless working relationships with relevant government bodies, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. The evolving trade and regulatory environment within TI’s global manufacturing and business footprint will be a focus of the role. This is an opportunity to work with our regional GR teams and business units on a wide range of policies impacting the semiconductor industry in the U.S., China, and other key markets. A successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, policy experience, and ability to work in a DC-based and international team environment. This individual contributor role is based in Washington D.C. and will report to the Director of Government Relations, Global Policy & International Trade. 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and their advisors in the US and Asia.
  • Monitor, analyze, and proactively communicate emerging policy and regulatory trends in the US and Asia impacting the semiconductor industry.
  • Use engagement strategy to proactively identify, disseminate, and provide advice on political, policy and regulatory changes/practices.
  • Prepare a variety of written communications such as reports, talking points, and factsheets.
  • Represent TI at relevant conferences, industry events, and working groups. Identify relevant stakeholders to approach on policy topics and advocate TI’s position where appropriate.
  • Partner with TI’s regional GR teams and cross functional stakeholders (i.e. communications, legal, product, regional sales) to respond to government consultations and develop positions to support the interests of TI.
  • Maintain strong communications channels between relevant internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory, professional and legal requirements.
  • Some domestic and occasional international travel required.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay range for this role is shown below.

Pay Range: $147,000 – $238,000 per year

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements:

  • 7+ years prior experience in government relations, with demonstrated track record of success in developing and driving government affairs strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, international relations, law, business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding of US and Asia economic, commercial and foreign policy issues, as well as knowledge of the political and regulatory environments in the US, China and other Southeast Asian markets.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable insights for the company
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment that enables deadline-sensitive project delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Chinese or another Asian language a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills; demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships, ability to work within a small team and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • US permanent work authorization (US citizen or lawful permanent resident).
