Your expertise will guide the analysis of observational data and contribute to the design and execution of observational studies that fulfill our post-marketing commitments.You will be part of an inclusive team that works to develop innovative therapies for patients.Hybrid Working:At Astellas, we recognise that our employees enjoy having a balance between their professional and home lives. • Develop and implement safety assessments for drug products using external databases and registries to determine background rates of events of interest in target populations.
• Assist with the design, execution, and timely submission of observational studies that fulfill Astellas’ postmarketing commitments using good epidemiology practice.
• Contribute to the development and utilization of new methodologies and advanced pharmacoepidemiology tools, analyzing potential safety signals.
• Provide scientific support for all Astellas safety risk management activities where pharmacoepidemiology expertise is required.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and requirements worldwide in all epidemiology activities.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• Substantial experience in the pharmaceutical/health-related industry.
• Strong understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations and guidelines, including US, ICH, and EU regulations.
• Demonstrated effective leadership and collaboration skills within a matrix environment.
• Ability to interpret quantitative data and compose technical and scientific reports.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including for presentations and publications.

Preferred Experience:

• PhD in Epidemiology or a related field or equivalent.
• Global experience in epidemiology preferred.

Education/Qualifications:

• PhD in Epidemiology or a related field preferred.

Additional Information:

• This is a permanent, full-time role.
• Location: UK office (Addlestone).
• This position follows our hybrid working model. The role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per quarter in our UK office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs.
