Salary: Salary from £38,249 per annum to £66,537 per annum dependent on skills and experienceThe School of Computing Sciences is looking to appoint an Associate Professor or Lecturer in Computing Science on our Academic Teaching and Scholarship (ATS) pathway. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching, other student facing activities as well as leadership roles. We are particularly interested in candidates who will be able to contribute to expanding our employability and innovation portfolio and share recent industrial experience of working in computing science.You will be expected to plan, teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, taking responsibility for the delivery and assessment of specific modules. This will include organising modules and developing teaching and learning materials, contributing to core computing science topics such as programming, software engineering, digital electronics as our current priority. It is also desirable to be able to contribute to teaching in other topics such as AI and machine learning, databases, or web-based programming. You will also take responsibility for some of the degree programmes within the school, regularly interview prospective students and promoting equality and diversity.A PhD or proven experience of high-quality undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and module development is desirable. You should have experience or a keen desire to promote equality and diversity in academia.For appointment at Associate Prof. level it is an essential requirement to have recent experience of working in industry in a computer science related job. It is also desirable that you have some experience of innovation and entrepreneurship. You will also be expected to have the ability to develop our employability initiatives, equipping the students for jobs in industry with the right soft skills as well as technical skills.This post is available from 4 August 2025 on a full-time, indefinite basis.Appointment will be considered at Associate Professor or Lecturer level dependent on skills and experience.
