Our Halifax office is looking for an Associate, Senior Architect with experience in delivering complex integrated transit projects from start to finish. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and creative mind to take on dynamic and challenging projects and be part of project leading the creative design initiatives on transit projects both locally and internationally. The successful candidate will have:Role accountabilities:

• Lead and manage large, complex projects and project teams
• Part of leading the process of creating and developing the fundamental design principles to guide a project from the earliest stages of its conception and continue to assist in its development and refinement through subsequent design and implementation phases
• As a member of the senior design team, collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues to enhance Arcadis IBI’s Transit Architecture Studio’s culture for design excellence
• Lead Business Development (BD) efforts
• Client facing role with direct interaction with clients

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum University Degree in Architecture and OAA Registered Architect
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in an architectural studio and minimum 5 years’ experience in leading project teams and managing large, complex interdisciplinary projects
• Must be an experienced people manager
• Experience with Transit and alternative project delivery models
• Knowledge in Transit Agency policies around the development of transit stations and transit oriented communities
• Understanding the role of developers in transit projects
• Competent knowledge of building codes and specifications
• Highly organized with the ability to manage time and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and detail oriented
• Analytical thinker and problem solver
