$18.58 to $20.44 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Palm Bay. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Performs experienced service maintenance work operating moderately complex automotive vehicles or equipment and performing routine automotive service and maintenance. Work includes performing manual work in the maintenance and construction of drainage systems, including ditches, canals, swales, culverts, and structures, as part of the Public Works countywide drainage crew.

REQUIREMENTS: One (1) year of experience operating moderately complex Public Works vehicles and equipment, including a ten (10) wheel standard shift dump truck used in the construction and maintenance of drainage systems. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, avalid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. This is heavy physical work performed outdoors and involves exposure to dirt, dust, noise, odors and fumes, off-road conditions, water, insects, working in and around moving machinery and traffic, and extreme weather conditions. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
