The opportunity:

Automation Testers are required to join VML Commerce and Technology’s world class teams who are working to make our clients happy.

The individual should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have an eye for detail. We require a highly-motivated individual with well-developed interpersonal skills. You will be the automation tester in a team of testers working on a new client engagement. You will be involved in the identification, writing, debugging and execution of automated tests and where necessary manual tests. The programme covers both Front End automation and experience of testing API’s using frameworks such as RestAssured.

What you’ll be doing:

The applicant will be system testing on new projects, ideally and be proficient in Java, Selenium Web Driver or JavaScript based automation frameworks and tools. You should have experience of creating automated regression packs covering both API and front end-based features. A good knowledge of Java or JavaScript is essential to this role and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their competence in this area.

What we want from you:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with test automation using TypeScript and Playwright.
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile environments.
  • Experience with API/Integration testing using Pytest.
  • Experience with visual testing automation using Playwright.
  • Proficient in assessing unit tests and integration test coverage.
  • Working experience with tools like Jira and Zephyr.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX.
  • Experience in exploratory testing and willingness to perform manual testing when required.
  • Ability to identify data requirements and implement tests to achieve coverage.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the test automation framework.
  • Experience in test automation within a continuous integration environment.
  • Ability to collaborate in daily standups and work closely with developers.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate with all stakeholders.
  • Attentive to detail and highly organised.
  • Demonstrated ability to change direction and re-prioritise in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and follow-up skills, with the ability to hold others accountable.
  • Experience using Git SCM tools, such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar tools.

If you know some of this, even better:

  • Experience with Cucumber/Gherkin or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of deployment processes.
  • Experience in testing mobile apps.
