NXP’s Automotive Embedded Systems (AES) business unit offers compute, sensing and control solutions that drive all aspects of the secure connected cars of today and the autonomous cars of tomorrow. It provides the processing power to help accelerate the next breakthrough automotive design for in-cabin experience advanced driver assistance systems, in-vehicle networking, body, chassis, powertrain and safety applications.

Job Summary:

As part of the AES business line, the Automotive Microcontrollers product line (AMCU) focuses on a wide variety of high-volume automotive applications powered by NXP microcontrollers. The position is part of our End-Nodes segment and focusses on the microcontroller solutions implementing the control and sensing functions in body, safety and cabin applications.

The Product Manager position is playing a leading role to apply a holistic approach for NXP’s End-Nodes offering, encompassing all facets of value proposition of the product. Ultimately, this role shall ensure NXP new microcontrollers fulfill customer’s expectations, ensuring design-win at the Carmakers and Tier1s:

• Define innovative solution roadmap which address car OEMs, Tier1 and Tier2 needs
• Product manage the product across the lifecycle
• Define and execute comprehensive value proposition and strategy to position and promote the offering
• Set-up, then manage, strategic technical and marketing collaboration with the key actors to ensure our solution align with customer needs
• Drive NXP technology adoption in for the next generation of automotive body, safety and cockpit solutions
• Track the overall regional Design-Wins progress and drive actions to meet and exceed targets
• Monitor competitive solutions and build material to position NXP solution benefits
• Creation and maintenance of the marketing materials
• Act as key stakeholder for product launch definition, messaging and roll-out
• The position has a worldwide responsibility

The role demands enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, plus a blend of technical and product management skills. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has a strong commercial appetite to drive and win business in close collaboration with the sales organization. Successful candidate also enjoys interfacing with customers to understand market problems, defining innovative solutions, and promoting new concepts to the broad global market.

Candidate profile:

• MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in the embedded software and/or semiconductor industry
• Experience as product manager, or product marketing, is of benefit for the position
• Experience in the Automotive value chain is of advantage
• Understanding of the technical solution and challenges in automotive ECUs and trends in automotive architectures
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Self-driven, open-minded, curious, innovative, strong team player and customer minded
• Ability to interact across multiple management levels both internally and externally
• Fluent in spoken and written English, further foreign languages advantageous (esp German)
• Willingness to travel when necessary
