The UK National External Quality Assessment Unit (UK NEQAS) is operated by West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and is based in a bespoke unit at the Croxley Business Park in Watford.We are seeking a qualified management accountant to take responsibility for the business and financial management of the unit, including the financial liaison with the partner, limited-by-guarantee companies, QED Haematology and QED Transfusion and their accountants.The post is an NHS appointment and works with, but is not part of, the Trust’s Finance Department.   • Knowledge of UK business practice.
  • Knowledge of VAT, bookkeeping.
  • Extensive knowledge of office procedures.
  • Intermediate/advanced use of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of commercial finance management packages.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS or public sector financial management.

Experience:Essential

  • Demonstrates a depth of relevant experience sufficient for the role.
  • Management experience.
  • Experience of invoicing, credit control and financial management.
  • Experience with presenting and explaining financial information to non-finance staff.
  • Experience of market analysis in a competitive field.
  • Experience of a commercial finance management software package.

Desirable

  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience of Xero financial management package.
  • Experience of contract management.
  • Experience of non-UK business practice.
