The Battery Operator will be responsible for operating dye cutting and/or assembly equipment in a work cell environment. Job activities may be of short duration and requiring frequent change in set-up and motion. The Operator will be responsible for setting up the machinery including loading raw material into the machine. The machines may be manually or automatically operated depending on the job task. The Operator will also be responsible for unloading WIP or finished product, and packaging this product accordingly. The Operator will check the products routinely for product characteristics using standard measuring devices or visual inspection. The Operator also enters production into the production control system and records consumption of raw materials, filling out basic paperwork for each task to maintain production records.

The Operator has moderate control over the product quality and works from written or verbal instructions and general operating practices, requiring application of some judgment and selectivity. The Operator will adjust set-up and process operation accordingly.

Responsibilities:

• Enter proper machine settings based on product specifications for set-ups and production run
• Read & follow manufacturing work orders, work instructions, control plans, SOP’s, safety requirements
• Inspection of product going into and out of process
• Support and maintain the world class manufacturing system (including 5S)
• Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
• Must be able to work extended hours when required
• All other duties as assigned
• Must comply with all Federal, State, Local and Company rules and regulations on Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
• Responsible for maintaining Alkegen’s highest level of safety standards on site including identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
• Will embody Alkegen’s core safety principles including but not limited to The Seven Safety Absolutes, use of PPE, and Safe Standards of Work at all times.
• Will champion safety in the workplace each day.

Qualifications/ Experience:

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in a manufacturing-setting preferred
• Possess good communication skills
• Must be able to use measurement devices
• Must have legible handwriting

Schedule:

• 1st shift – 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri

Compensation:

• $19.76/hour
