Behavioral Health Transfer Specialist

Texas Health Behavioral Health Transfer Center Intake department is looking for a top skilled Transfer Specialist. Is that you?

Work location: In -person, Texas Health Resources, 612 E. Lamar Arlington, TX 76011

Work hours: Full Time (36hours) Day Shift 6:30AM – 7:00PM, rotating weekends and holidays

Education

· Master’s Degree Mental Health field required

Experience

· 2 Years related experience in mental health field required

· Social workers with behavioral health experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications

· LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire required Or

· LMSW – Licensed Master Social Worker Upon Hire required Or

  • LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker Upon Hire required

What You Will Do

· Facilitates behavioral health transfers throughout the THR system and from other healthcare facilities. Documents cases accordingly and meets departmental metrics related to transfer times and referral guidelines. Relays clinical information and facilitates doctor/nurse reviews. Aware of exclusionary criteria. Promotes the THR Behavioral health transfer center to all potential transfer referral resources.

· Understands and complies with all regulations including but not limited to TDMHMR, TDH, CMS, EMTALA, and Texas Behavioral Health Marketing Act. Educates hospital staff/ team members regarding regulations as indicated. Understands legal statues relevant to voluntary and involuntary patients. Understands various forms and documents appropriately.

· Understands admission criteria for various levels of care. Knowledge of community resources including public and private resources for both psychiatric and chemically dependent patients. Communicates pertinent data to receiving provider.

· Collaborates/communicates/establishes credibility with ED physician, admitting and consulting physician, and all members of provider team. Seeks supervision as needed.

· Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Obtains required annual continuing education. Keeps professional license up to date.
