About the position

The Innovation and Business Development unit is seeking a Senior Analyst responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights. This role involves analyzing large volumes of data to identify trends and opportunities, developing predictive models to support strategic decision-making, and effectively communicating key findings to stakeholders. The Senior Analyst will be driving data-driven strategies and optimizing business processes. To excel in this position, familiarity with Agile methodologies and proficiency in tools such as Jira and Notion are essential for effective collaboration within a dynamic team environment.

The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia. And will offer hybrid working conditions.

 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product and business teams to identify opportunities where AI solutions can provide tangible value, streamline processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and promote innovation.
• Support the design, training, and optimization of traditional machine learning models (regression, classification, time series, clustering) to assist in forecasting trends, predicting behaviors, and guiding strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of generative models (GANs, VAEs, Transformers, Diffusion Models) to produce synthetic content that aids in product prototyping, feature development, and enhancing user experiences.
• Assist in implementing and customizing LLMs (GPT, T5, LLaMA, etc.) to improve user interactions, generate relevant content, and add value to applications.
• Utilize the Hugging Face ecosystem to efficiently implement, fine-tune, and deploy advanced NLP and generative models, accelerating the development process.
• Integrate and tailor models from external AI platforms, such as OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock, to meet specific use cases and ensure seamless alignment with the product ecosystem.
• Work closely with the engineering team to support the integration of models into the existing tech stack, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability in production environments.
• Define and monitor quality metrics (accuracy, recall, FID score, perplexity, etc.), conducting experiments to enhance the relevance, performance, and overall quality of predictive and generative models.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations to provide stakeholders with clear insights, translating complex findings into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Actively engage in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), participating in sprint reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, while maintaining thorough documentation and tracking progress using tools like Jira and Notion.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in generative AI, machine learning, MLOps, and software development, adopting new approaches and technologies to align with evolving business requirements.

 

Requirements

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields enroll in postgraduate studies.
• Solid understanding of statistics, mathematics, and programming in Python or R, with experience in data science tools like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
• Proficiency in managing SQL and NoSQL databases and using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
• Experience with machine learning, deep learning techniques, and tools like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), and tools like Jira and Notion for task and project management.
• Proficiency in using Jira for project tracking and Notion for documentation and collaboration.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Intermediate level of English proficiency (written and spoken).
• Additional experience in big data environments, NLP, or computer vision is a plus.

Terms of employment

This is a nationally recruited position placed at a BG07, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14 being the highest.

This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed-term contract of a one (1) year period, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation, and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
