About the Role:
As a Blasting Technician at Talgo Inc., you’ll play a vital role in preparing and cleaning surfaces for trains, using various abrasive materials like sand, glass beads, and aluminum oxide. Your work will ensure the highest standards of quality and safety, supporting the production of cutting-edge trains.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces for painting or coating
• Mix and adjust air and abrasive flow in the blasting machine
• Load and unload materials to be blasted
• Clean and maintain blasting equipment and related tools as well as work area
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding work progress and potential issues

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 2 years of experience in blasting or a related field
• Knowledge of abrasive materials and their proper usage
• Familiarity with blasting equipment and tools
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods

Additional Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
