About the jobJoin the Board of Directors at Tone Cluster: A Queer Community Choir and Arts Organization in Ottawa!Are you passionate about guiding organizations through growth and change? Do you believe in promoting diversity and serving the 2SLGBTQIA+ community? Do you have experience in not-for-profit organizations, charities, or arts organizations? Tone Cluster, based in Ottawa and the National Capital Region, is excited to announce we are seeking new members to join our Board of Directors! We are also seeking a new Treasurer and Secretary.About Us: Tone Cluster is more than just a choir. Based in Ottawa, we’ve grown into a vibrant queer arts organization. We now manage not only one but two choirs, and we’ve recently hired a Choir Manager to handle the day-to-day operations of the organization. As a result, our Board is now focused on strategic leadership and guiding the organization through an exciting period of growth and change as we expand our program offerings. Our mission is rooted in celebrating diversity, fostering inclusion, and promoting music that empowers the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.We’re Looking for Individuals with Experience in One or More of the Following Areas of Expertise:

  • Fundraising and sponsorship
  • Finance
  • Governance
  • Human resources
  • Communications
  • Community development
  • Not-for-profit and charitable sectors
  • Arts organization management
  • Accessibility

Preferred Skills & Community Connection: While not required, we would love to have board members who identify as part of Ottawa’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community to ensure our leadership reflects the community we serve.Board Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership in your areas of expertise
  • Guide the organization through change and growth as we develop into a more expansive arts organization
  • Commit to 5-10 hours of volunteer time per month, including monthly evening Board meetings (currently held via Zoom)
  • Board terms are currently three years
