Bookkeeper in Palo Alto, California

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Palo Alto, California. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the billing process, AR/AP, and overseeing invoices in a remote work environment. Communication flexibility through tools like Slack and Asana is necessary, and the role requires availability within Pacific standard time.

Responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of the billing process and managing Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable

• Overseeing due invoices and maintaining a close watch on schedules

• Logging hours by grants and pulling reports for specific contracts

• Assigning coding for different programs and crafting invoices through QuickBooks

• Learning organizational systems and committing to regular weekly hours

• Coordinating across teams as necessary and integrating payroll tasks

• Managing month-end reconciliation and closing, as well as simple invoicing linked to grants

• Monitoring closely the number of invoices a month, with potential growth as more contracts are secured. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required

• Ability to handle Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential

• Must be adept at conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Comprehensive knowledge of Bookkeeping practices is mandatory

• Demonstrable skills in Data Entry are required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Ability to manage Month End Close procedures is critical

• Experience in handling Payroll is required

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks is necessary

• Experience with Quickbooks Online is a plus

• Familiarity with bill.com platform is desirable
