The Business Analyst manages the accounting, budgeting, and financial operations for the Bergen Generating Station, a 1,250 MW gas-fired power plant in New Jersey. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong ability to manage complex financial functions and support plant operations effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate corporate policies, contracts, and files.
Oversee accounts payable, monthly accounting close, and financial reporting.
Develop and manage O&M and Capital budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and variance analysis.
Collaborate with plant staff and management on budgeting and cost tracking for projects.
Serve as the primary financial contact for the Asset Manager.
Provide financial analyses, forecasts, and trend reporting.
Manage audits, inquiries, and compliance with government regulations.
Support procurement processes and administrative financial controls.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Expertise in accounting, budgeting, and financial management.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
Strong organizational, communication, and time-management abilities.
Experience with large data sets and accounting software.
Preferred Qualifications
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) knowledge
Experience in Operational Excellence planning
Ability to identify, track, and communicate KPIs
Familiarity with SharePoint
Background in power plant operations or maintenance
Knowledge of Hexagon (EAM) and Great Plains financial systems
