Burn Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist, Ukraine
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine
Contract: 3-month deployment
Salary: £36,536 – £43,279 (dependent on experience) per annum pro-rata plus £1,982.10 in monthly per diem & location-based allowances
Could you use your specialist expertise and knowledge as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to help support the vital enhancement and development of burn care in Ukraine?
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the British Red Cross (BRC) are working in partnership to support the enhancement of a burn centre, in a city hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine.
We are seeking x4 medical professionals with specialised experience in burns (1x Burn Physiotherapist, 1x Burn Surgical Specialist, 1x Burn Anaesthetist Specialist and 1x Burn Specialist Nurse) and who are enthusiastic about extending their knowledge and skills within a humanitarian environment to deploy for a 3-month period in early 2025. Two of them — the Burn Surgeon and Burn Specialist Nurse — have already joined the hospital team in Kyiv and are preparing for the next deployment phase in early 2025.
The Burn Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist will play a crucial role in advancing the quality of care provided to weapon-wounded individuals and civilians with burns in Ukraine. The specialist support you will offer will be in the development of skills within the burn centre’s existing local staff (a mix of assisting in the development of formal training and mentoring) and a continuous needs assessment, contributing to learning needs and materials (including consumables, equipment, and information management needs).
