We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in banking operations, regulatory reporting, and financial services compliance. The successful candidate will support key regulatory enhancement initiatives and automation projects for the financial services sector, focusing on gathering business requirements, ensuring compliance with OSFI and other Canadian banking regulations, and contributing to the overall efficiency of banking processes.The ideal candidate will have experience in regulatory reporting within the banking sector, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial and banking systems. Previous experience in banking projects or compliance roles is highly valued.Key Responsibilities:– Gather and analyze business and regulatory requirements.
– Support regulatory reporting frameworks and compliance processes.
– Analyze data sources and reporting structures to aid project implementation.
– Contribute to data mapping reviews and revisions.
– Assist in designing and testing reporting tools and automation solutions.
– Create and maintain business documentation, workflows, and user guides.
– Perform gap analysis and suggest process improvements.
– Assist in UAT of regulatory reports.
– Ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Support the regulatory reporting framework and ensure adherence to OSFI, Bank Act, and other relevant Canadian banking regulations.
– Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update policies accordingly.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams (risk, finance, compliance, IT, operations).
– Support audits related to regulatory reporting.
– Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.Key Requirements:– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
– Certification in Business Analysis or Project Management (CAPM, PMP) is a plus.
– 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
– Strong understanding of regulatory reporting (OSFI, Bank Act) and compliance.
– Experience with large-scale banking projects or system implementations.
– Familiarity with data analysis, financial reporting, and regulatory frameworks.
– Expertise in data management tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, etc.).
– Strong communication and documentation skills.
