Description
As a Business Development Manager at Parallax, you will play a key role in our growth strategy by acquiring new business and cultivating strong relationships with a diverse client portfolio. Your responsibilities will include strategic thinking, market research, and hands-on sales activities to drive Parallax’s digital consultancy to new heights. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth for Parallax.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local and national SMEs and blue-chip corporations across the UK.
- Visit potential clients and get to know and understand their key problems and present ideas and opportunities to solve them through digital and software development.
- Lead the proposal development process, including coordinating and collaborating with the internal team to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the digital consultancy space.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement effective campaigns that attract new clients.
- Manage and oversee the sales pipeline, from initial contact through to contract negotiation and closure.
- Report to the Commercial Director, providing regular updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasting.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote Parallax and identify potential clients.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the digital consultancy or technology industry.
- Strong understanding of digital products, user experience design, and technical innovation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Proficient in CRM software and sales pipeline management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Assist in writing compelling and competitive tenders, ensuring alignment with client requirements and showcasing Parallax’s capabilities and value proposition.
Desirable:
- Experience with enterprise clients and large-scale digital projects.
- Knowledge of the latest trends and innovations in the digital sector, especially AI and IoT.
- Existing network of contacts within the industry.
- Experience in leading proposal development and pitching to high-profile clients.
- Plan, organise, and lead discovery workshops with clients to understand their needs, define project scope, and identify innovative solutions that align with Parallax’s expertise and client objectives.
