We are quoted extensively in the global media and frequently top polls of macroeconomic forecasts.The RoleWe are currently expanding our commercial team and looking for an enthusiastic and talented candidate to join our Business Development team, focusing specifically on our Consultancy practice. Based in London, the candidate should have proven success in building long-term client relationships and experience selling complex, strategy-based solutions, ideally within the financial services or consultancy industries. This role requires a consultative and strategic approach to selling, with a focus on nurturing key accounts and identifying opportunities for cross-selling consultancy services.Reporting to the Head of Consultancy Sales, also based in London, this role will be responsible for developing and expanding our consultancy client base. The successful candidate will manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact and needs analysis to negotiation and closure. Project scoping and pricing will be led by the Consultancy Economists, with whom you will collaborate.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy specifically for our Consultancy practice, aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Proactively identify and target potential consultancy clients, including leveraging existing subscription client relationships for cross-selling opportunities.
  • Lead the sales process from initial contact and needs analysis to negotiation and closure, emphasising a consultative approach to understand client challenges and tailor solutions.
  • Achieve sales targets and revenue goals through effective pipeline management and deal execution, with a focus on building long-term, strategic partnerships.
  • Continuously assess market trends, competitor activities, and economic developments to identify new consultancy opportunities and refine our service offerings.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders, including industry associations and professional networks.
  • Collaborate closely with the consultancy team on pitches, tenders and proposals to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Weekly sales pipeline and financial forecast management using Salesforce.com

Requirements:Candidates will have some or all of the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven record of success in business development, sales, or client management within the financial services, consultancy, or related industry, with a focus on selling complex solutions and building long-term relationships.
  • Experience in selling consultancy services is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and adoption of value selling methodology/framework.
  • Proficient in Salesforce CRM software (Tableau experience is a plus)
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-oriented approach, capable of developing and executing effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong commitment to succeed and a passion for building strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of economic principles and financial markets.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers.
  • Fully IT literate.
