A national group of market-leading wholesale and distribution businesses is looking for a proactive and commercially-minded Business Manager to take the reins of a successful operation in Colchester.Whether you’re an experienced Branch/General/Business Manager with a track record of running a profitable B2B operation, or a strong salesperson with leadership potential looking to take the next step in your career, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of your own business unit within a well-established and supportive group.Role ResponsibilitiesAs a Business Manager, you will:

• Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing B2B customers
• Be responsible for the running of the entire business, including full P&L, managing and mentoring employees, driving sales, marketing, logistics and purchasing
• Ensure the achievement of set targets and objectives
• Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to develop company performance and revenue

• A starting salary up to £55,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should:

• Be either a proven manager with P&L responsibility, or a high-performing salesperson ready to step up into a leadership role
• Have experience within a wholesale and distribution environment (e.g. electrical, mechanical, HVAC, manufacturing, builder’s merchant etc.)
• Be commercially aware, sales-driven, and a strong relationship-builder
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
