If so we have an exciting opportunity for 4 Business Managers to join Companies House and to work in one of our directorates across the business.
As a Business Manager you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support across the Directorate. You will work with SLTs across the Directorate to enable Executive Board members to focus on strategic objectives. By engaging with stakeholders at all levels within the business, coordinating meetings, and managing resources effectively, you will contribute to the overall success and growth of Companies House.
The exact scope of the role will vary depending on the directorate needs and priorities and will evolve over time.
The directorates we are recruiting for are:
- Finance and commercial
- Digital and Technology
- Transformation Delivery (Security Clearance will be needed for this role)
- Intelligence (Security Clearance will be needed for this role)

Job description
Administrative Support
Provide comprehensive administrative support across the Directorate.
Track reports, monitor risks and actions, and support budget forecasts and monitoring.
Develop communication assets including PowerPoint presentations, bulletins, and SharePoint content.
Working with some budget and financial controls eg raising Purchase Orders (PO).
Learning and Development (L&D) Support
Coordinate booking of training sessions and liaise with training providers.
Organise training logistics and monitor L&D budget.
Maintain learning management systems, gather evaluation data, and communicate key L&D opportunities effectively.
Meeting and Event Planning
Collaborate with Personal Assistants (PAs) to plan meetings and coordinate agendas.
Facilitate minute taking, meeting chairing, and action log maintenance.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with directorate Senior Leadership Teams (SLTs) and support Directorate engagement groups.
Assist in People and Pulse survey output at the directorate level.
Collaboration across function/directorate
Working across the Business Manager function, to collectively manage the flow of information to and from the leadership team.
Develop an understanding of the work of the wider team and the strategic objectives that their work supports to inform effective prioritisation, delegation and coordination.
Person specification
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure, with the capacity to understand directors’ needs.
- Proficient in prioritising workload and managing multiple demands.
- Skilled in using data and metrics to produce reports.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt to new business needs.
- Competent in technology and data management, with expertise in Office365 suite and Microsoft applications.
- Experience of working in change and ambiguity
Additional Requirements
- Must uphold confidentiality and may be required to undergo SC level security clearance. (for certain directorates)
- Willingness to undertake additional tasks such as event organization or collaboration with colleagues and managers.
- Regular coordination with team members for effective flow of information and strategic alignment.

You will be aligned to our Cardiff Office, where we are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work.
