Job Summary
At Prevea Health, the Buyer is responsible for performing purchasing functions and supporting cost-saving initiatives. Coordinates the procurement of materials, products, and services necessary to ensure the efficient daily operations of Prevea Health.
What you will do

• Processes requisitions and purchase orders; reviews and edits requirements as needed.
• Places supply orders with vendors via telephone, EDI, fax, or internet using the computerized materials management system.
• Communicates with supplier representatives to obtain product information, quotes, pricing, and delivery schedules; follows up and expedites orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintains stock levels, records, reports, reference materials, catalogs, and vendor files; researches and evaluates new products, services, and vendors.
• Coordinates product returns, resolves backorder or delivery issues, and recommends economical shipping methods consistent with requirements.
• Distributes product information to department heads and staff as appropriate.
• Assists with the selection, training, and support of departmental personnel.

Education Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in purchasing/supply chain or business, or health care related field. Preferred

experience Qualifications

• 1-3 years in purchasing/supply chain or business Required
• 1-3 years healthcare related field Preferred

• Knowledge of materials management purchasing policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable computer applications.
• Knowledge of purchasing functions including ordering, receiving, distribution, storing and organizing of supplies.
• Knowledge of purchasing practices including invoicing and accounting procedures.
• Knowledgeable of group purchasing contracts.
• Skill in examining documents for correctness and interpreting their accuracy.
• Skill in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data.
• Skill in critical thinking, verbal and written communication.
