Express Employment is working with a long-standing family-owned business within the automotive industry that is seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer for a permanent position with their company. Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor and have a minimum of 1-year experience as a drafter/designer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create designs and edit existing designs for parts & products
- Create bill of materials for designs
- Work with fabricators and welders to document changes they make to designs
Candidate must be:
- Proficient with Microsoft office products.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor or similar 3D software.
- Create drawings and bill of material. Work with fabricators and welders to document designs and as built drawings.
- Experience in a fabrication environment and automotive industry is a PLUS.
- Able to take direction from company owner and lead drafter.
- Able to use measuring tools – calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Able to work a schedule of 6:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday (overtime weekdays may be required); Saturdays (if required) 6:30am-Noon
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design / Drafting
- Past experience in a fabrication environment within the automotive industry
