The Machine Intelligence team at Microsoft Research Cambridge (UK) is dedicated to fundamental and impactful Machine Learning research. Our broad mission is to solve challenging problems from multiple areas, including Reasoning, Knowledge Representation, Learning Algorithms and Architectures, and Efficiency. As a resident, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside world-class researchers and engineers to develop solutions to fundamental problems in Generative AI. This position is a part of our two-year residency program and provides a unique opportunity to conduct groundbreaking research.Responsibilities:

  • Conduct innovative and fundamental research in generative AI.
  • Collaborate with a team of ML researchers, engineers, to translate research findings into deep, actionable insights.
  • Share your findings through publications and presentations.
  • Contribute to our team strategy and help us foster a culture of growth, innovation, and research excellence.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree (or nearing completion) in PhD program in Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science (or related discipline).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in generative AI and one or more applications.
  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and software engineering best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
