Position Information

A Minot State Campus Security Officer focuses on campus wide safety services to provide a safe and secure learning and working environment for students and employees.

Responsibilities

• High visibility vehicle and foot patrol in all buildings and parking lots to enhance safety and security of the campus community.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance promptly and effectively.
• Provide security escort for employees, students, and guests when requested.
• Promote positive relationships with students and staff.
• Assist in securement of campus buildings.
• Detect and investigate suspicious activity.
• Investigate and document reported crimes and safety issues.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies.
• Provide special event security as assigned.
• Will be trained and certified as a Clery Act Campus Security Authority and Title IX Responsible Employee.

Requirements

• Ability to interact with people effectively and positively.
• 60 semester hours of college preferred – (a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement).
• Prior experience in law enforcement or security is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Competent user of personal computers and application software.
• Operate standard office equipment (copier, telephone, fax, etc.).

Additional Information

• The projected work schedule is 3:30pm to midnight – Friday through Tuesday. Wednesdays and Thursdays are weekly days off.
• Employment will begin after the background investigation is completed.
