Key Position Details:

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider to join the practice.

• .1.0 FTE position. 10 hour work days.
• Position is located in Eden Prairie and Lakeville. May also include outreach in Cambridge or Mora.
• 100% outpatient practice. Monday – Friday position. No weekends, no call and no holidays.
• Role supports general cardiology patients.
• EMR: Epic is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities:

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Participates in health care team.
• Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
• Acts as resource to members of the team.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree – Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.

Preferred Qualifications

• New graduates may be considered. Prefer minimum 2 years experience in cardiology or ICU.

Licenses/Certifications

• Certification as a Physician Assistant – NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) – American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates).
• Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain).
• BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
