UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (IN-UCOL-IUINA)
IU Indianapolis is an urban campus. We are committed to being a welcoming campus community that reflects and enacts the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. We seek candidates who seek to understand different perspectives and cultures, who can actively contribute to a work climate where differences are valued and supported, and who are sensitive to cultural norms, expectations and ways of communicating. We hope to identify individuals who can assist us in dismantling racism and other oppressions so that everyone has the opportunity to succeed at IU Indianapolis.
The Office of Academic and Career Development (ACD) facilitates University College students’ academic and career success by providing programs and services that engage students in exploring and committing to educational and career goals, developing and implementing meaningful academic plans, transitioning into degree-granting schools, and translating learning to the world of work. ACD student success advisors and career consultants work in clusters of majors with similar themes and interests to help students explore their interests, choose a major, and create a plan to achieve their goals.
University College provides a common gateway to the academic programs available to entering students. Programs and services offered by University College focus on assisting students with the development of the knowledge and skills needed for success in the collegiate environment, including academic advising, academic support, career planning, peer mentoring, and new student orientation. University College also offers college readiness programs that focus on helping high school students to become college bound.
The Division of Undergraduate Education (DUE) serves as the catalyst for enhancing the quality of the undergraduate student experience while promoting on-time graduation for all undergraduate students at IU Indianapolis. Three units report up to the DUE: University College, Honors College and the Institute for Engaged Learning.
Career Consultants are key to providing the career-related events that support positive career outcomes for IU Indianapolis students like Major and Career Information Day, Field Trip Fridays, Fall Career Week, and more.
