Job DescriptionCategory Manager – 12 Month Contract/ActingRank 5Scarborough, ON (Hybrid)Toyota Canada (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support our Finance & Accounting department. This is a 12-month contract/acting opportunity and will report to the Manager, Procurement.The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to work closely with the Procurement Manager and larger team to develop departmental strategies and process efficiencies. The successful candidate will be accountable for the Procurement of Goods and Services on behalf of TCI. The individual will also establish & maintain effective systematic tools and procedures to enable TCI best practices in Procurement. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to build effective internal client relationships, provide advisory-level services, and achieve targeted savings for the organization through negotiation and cost-saving/strategic sourcing initiatives while maintaining quality and integrity in goods and services acquired.What We’ll Bring:Company & CultureA hybrid work environmentA work environment built on teamwork, flexibility and respectProfessional growth and development programs to help advance your careerA focus on respect for people and continuous improvementSummer Hours – condensed work week during the summerBenefitsCompetitive compensation packageExtended health care and dental benefits effective immediatelyAssociate vehicle discount programPaid holiday shutdown and competitive paid time off benefitsWhat You’ll be Doing:Support and develop best-in-class Procurement practices by planning and executing Procurement strategy to assigned divisional categories, developing and maintaining organizational Spend Analysis and Compliance metrics, and acting on RQ/PO requests through Procure to Pay system (SAP) while ensuring compliance to system requirementsAssess the requirements of the organization to develop specifications for products/services; identify new service providers and research new products; manage supplier base for internal client groupsLead negotiations with external vendors; monitor and control contracts and vendor performance; resolve ongoing, escalated issues (mitigate undue vendor supply/financial exposure)Utilize knowledge of industry best practices to establish and implement procurement policies, procedures and processes that ensure organizational compliance while effectively managing the needs of various internal stakeholdersSupport departmental priorities, providing input in the day-to-day challenges and decision-making processBe a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing best-in-class advisory services to all levels of the organization, including ExecutivesSupport the Procure to Pay module by liaising with key team members as the SME on purchasing and requisitioner requirementsConduct analysis on spending and budget data; present findings and make recommendations to senior management through business case reviews to improve financial controls and realize cost savingsTake initiative to collaborate with the legal department and ensure optimal preparation and structure of service and consulting contractsDevelop and lead the process for periodic evaluation of supplier performance and/or vendor reviews as neededHelp lead the development of an enterprise-wide vendor management strategy involving the evaluation, selection, and onboarding of strategic vendors, ensuring they meet quality, reliability, and compliance standardsAssist in the design and implementation of standardized TCI vendor key performance measures, score-carding, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), risk indicators and outcome targets to improve efficiency, generate continuous improvement and build accountabilityAssist in adopting a framework for the Procurement team involving regular vendor reviews and identify opportunities for vendor consolidation, cost reduction, and process improvementEstablish standard KPI/SLA metricsWhat You’ll Bring:University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or related field, or a combination of education, training and experience5+ years of experience in Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/Category and Contract Management; Vendor management experience is preferred3+ years of experience with procurement ERP systems (SAP preferred)Experience working with internal and external parties to identify business requirements, design and implement business solutions, monitor vendor performance and/or resolve issues with diplomacyUnderstanding of Contract Management principlesUnderstanding of Finance; Awareness of accounting principles is an assetKnowledge of financial systems, processes and internal controls over financial informationAbility to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAdvanced program management skills, ability to lead sourcing events, influence key decision-makers, and build successful partnerships with internal business unitsStrong negotiation skills with proven ability to influence outcomesStrategic/critical thinking, advanced problem solving and decision-makingAbility to effectively manage and execute prioritiesStrong communication and presentation skills at all levels, including an executive audienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio)About UsToyota Canada Inc. is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
