Overview

Purpose Statement/position Summary:

The Charge Registered Nurse (Charge RN) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of assigned unit during a designated shift. This role is responsible for overseeing the work of other nurses and healthcare team members, and for ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. As the Charge Registered Nurse, the RN helps develop systems that promote efficient workflows and foster collaborative relationships with physicians. The Charge RN maintains open communication with managers regarding patients, family, personnel and operational issues. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with applicable policies and procedures related to handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/Work experience:

• Required:
• 5+ years in acute pediatrics; a minimum of 1 year in Charge Nurse Role.
• Expert clinical knowledge of unit’s patient population.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Required:
• BSN
• BLS/PALS, California RN Licenses; Current CPR Card
• National Certification

Pay Scale Information

$122,595.00-$201,406.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
